Lynne Curry, Ph.D, SPHR
CEO of The Growth Company, Inc.
Hi, I'm Lynne Curry. I created the Workplace Coach blog for you.
Before founding Alaska's largest management consulting firm (in 1978), I ran a statewide network providing technical assistance to Alaska's alcohol, drug abuse, youth and suicide prevention programs. Before that, I ran a successful human services/counseling center in Nome (northwest Alaska) and taught high school.
I founded our management consulting, HR On-call and manager/employee training firm with the desire to heal the world in the workplace. I have a heart for God, for my three kids, granddaughter, family, friends and staff.
In 1983 I began a "Dear Abby of the workplace" weekly newspaper column that appears in the Anchorage Daily News; since 1999 it has also run in the Tri-city Herald (Washington) and the Morris Daily Herald (Illinois, for 5 years). For three years my "working mom" humor column ran in the St. Petersburg Times (Florida). I've authored three books, Managing Equally and Legally, McFarland (1990), Won By One and Solutions. I've been quoted in Entrepreneur.com, Yahoo News!, CBS Money Watch and have written features for more than 50 magazines.
I've lived and taught in Korea and taught in Japan (for the U.S. Army), Mexico and on an English cruise ship (Orient Lines) in Hong Kong, China, Thailand and Vietnam.
At TGC, I divide my time between conducting pragmatic training sessions (for managers/employees/Board members), helping clients with HR trouble-shooting and providing consulting services (executive coaching, mediation, 360 reviews, client services, investigations). I love hiking, rafting, camping, flying and weekend life in the cabin with three dogs.
