Hi, I hope you’re enjoying these posts.
I published my first poem at 8, igniting a desire to change the world with my writing, but at 16 the desire to eat pushed me to take a day job. Writing remained a joy but became a hobby.
For 38 years I’ve written (and still write) a weekly “dear Abby of the workplace” newspaper column, and also ran a small company with a mission of helping individuals and organizations.
In 2014, I started www.workplacecoachblog.com and now post four times a week. I recently updated this, with a personal post on Wednesdays.
On May 27th, I retired from the day job and started writing full-time (though I still happily help Alaska-based clients part-time). The debut novel (the logline: Jess discovers that the perfect man she’s met on an Internet dating site is a white-collar criminal—and that she’s his latest target) is being read by two quality publishers. I’ve just published my second (ever) short story. Another publisher representative has asked for three nonfiction book proposals, I’ve finished one.
If there are topics you want covered in “workplacecoach” blog or in the “workplace” question/answer newspaper column, just let me know. Meanwhile, the view at the top shows you what I’m looking at when I write.
